Hi, I'm Anita

Before I became a counsellor, I came to this work through my own healing journey. For years, I lived with the echoes of severe childhood trauma / C-PTSD, burnout, anxiety, and depression. I was constantly searching for relief through psychologists, alternative practitioners, self-help, and spiritual practices, yet never finding lasting change. I felt disconnected from myself, stuck in old patterns, emotionally dysregulated and constantly triggered.

Everything began to shift when I discovered somatic and mind-body approaches that worked not just with my thoughts, but with my nervous system and emotional patterns. Through a powerful stint of EMDR, I decided to train and offer it back to the world. Today, as a trauma-informed counsellor and Somatic EMDR practitioner, I integrate both Eastern and Western medicine through my background in psychology, meditation, and other complementary therapies.

My approach combines evidence-based therapies with holistic healing, tailored to each person’s unique way of experiencing and expressing life. My work is grounded in compassion, authenticity, and lived understanding. I know how powerful it can be to be met with empathy and understanding rather than judgment from those who don't share your outlook or values.

That's the space I hold for my clients - one where they can feel seen, validated, and gently guided back to themselves.

Having also spent years in the corporate world, I understand the emotional toll of high-pressure environments. I’ve collaborated with organisations such as Discovery Channel and CarClarity to design wellness workshops focused on stress, mindfulness, resilience, and holistic wellbeing.

If I’ve learned anything on this journey, it’s that healing is always possible. When something no longer feels right or isn’t creating change, it’s simply an invitation to explore a new path. We’re constantly evolving, and it’s natural that what we resonate with will shift many times along the way.

What Makes My Approach Different?

Many of my clients have spent years trying to understand themselves through books, podcasts, self-development work, or even previous therapy, yet still feel stuck in the same patterns.

They come to me because I help them connect the dots between their past experiences and the challenges they're facing today. Rather than simply talking about problems, we work together to understand what's happening in the nervous system, uncover the deeper beliefs driving their behaviours, and create lasting change at the root.

Clients often tell me they feel deeply seen, understood, and accepted in our sessions. My approach combines compassion with honesty, helping you explore difficult experiences without judgment while also gently challenging the patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

Many people continue working with me because they begin noticing meaningful shifts in areas they've struggled with for years - whether that's anxiety, people-pleasing, self-worth, emotional regulation, relationships, boundaries, or healing from childhood trauma.

Many clients tell me they leave sessions feeling lighter, clearer, more self-compassionate, and with a better understanding of why they are the way they are.

Healing isn't about fixing what's wrong with you. It's about understanding what happened to you, recognising how you've adapted to survive, and integrating the parts of yourself that have been shaped by those experiences. The more integrated you become, the less you are driven by old fears, wounds, and protective patterns, and the more freedom you have to be fully present, authentic, and aligned with the life you want to create.
